Retired Air Force Officer Says Newfoundland UFO Incident Was Real

May 15th, 2013 No comments

I always find myself on the fence about retired military personnel who come out in their twilight years and make claims that UFOs are real and that the government has aliens or alien bodies. On the one hand, it makes sense. I mean, what do they have to lose? They can’t get fired. They aren’t afraid oif the government retaliating against them in any way. So they spill their secrets. On the other hand, maybe their old age has just made them bat-shit crazy? But honestly, none of the guys I’ve seen have come across as anything but completely sane and full of conviction.

Richard French worked on Project Blue Book and says UFO reports are real. When Air Force Lt. Col. Richard French was an alleged lead investigator of Project Blue Book in the 1950s, his job was to shoot down false reports of UFOs.

Given his job, French never dreamed he’d end up in Newfoundland one day watching what appeared to him to be two extraterrestrials performing repairs on a submerged, unknown circular craft.

In Washington, D.C., recently, the 83-year-old retired officer testified at the Citizen Hearing On Disclosure panel of six former members of Congress about his work as a UFO debunker in 1952.

French recounted how the Newfoundland incident unfolded decades ago, in the early 1950s, after two UFOs were seen by many people off the coast of St. John’s. French’s superiors ordered him to look into the situation.

“They said, ‘We have a UFO report and we want you to investigate it,’ and that was standard for what I was doing,” French told The Huffington Post. “They told me there were two of them involved and that they were deep under the water, after entering the water doing roughly 100 miles an hour.

“There were a lot of people assembled on the wharf, at least 100 standing around just looking in amazement at the water, including several local policemen.”

French recalls the water was very clear and he could see two circular craft, each one about 18 feet in diameter and approximately 3 feet thick. He said the two objects were floating below the surface of the water, a couple of feet apart, not more than 20 feet from the shore. And he saw two beings in the water near the ships.

“The first thing I saw was the UFOs, and it was apparent to me that they were doing something to the craft, and I couldn’t really tell what because they were on the bottom side of it and not visible to me except when they would occasionally get over to the side where I could see them. The water was fairly clear and I could see without any trouble. They weren’t down at the bottom of the [seabed] — they were about half way down.”

French told HuffPost that the two beings he saw “were about 2 or 3 feet tall, light grey in color, very thin, long arms with either two or three fingers. The top of their heads was much wider than their jaw line, their eyes were very slanted and you couldn’t see pupils in them. They looked the way [aliens] have been depicted in motion pictures.”

As the Air Force UFO debunker watched, he claims one of the ships began to rise out of the water.

“When it hit the [surface], it was going about 100 miles an hour. It then accelerated to somewhere in the neighborhood of 2,500 to 3,000 miles an hour and disappeared. It returned about 20 minutes later, slowed down to nearly a stop before it entered the water, then went down, and the two [beings] worked together.

“It took them about 20 minutes and then the two ships departed together, again slow when they exited the water, and immediately they sped up to a very high speed. I believe they were repairing [the ship] and tested that the repairs had been adequate, and then away they went.”

Ironically, French’s job at the time — as a Project Blue Book investigator — was to debunk UFOs. So, what kind of report did he file with Blue Book about this case he had personally witnessed?

“Needless to say, it was a fictitious report, as all of them were. I didn’t really say that they were UFOs — I said that there was something we didn’t know — some type of foreign or unrecognizable vehicle there. In other words, I weasel-worded it.

“Oh, I think without a doubt it was a UFO and I think there were aliens aboard it. There’s no question in my mind that was exactly what it was, and my duty was to debunk the story, so I did my best to do so.”

The events of the Newfoundland UFO and alleged aliens took place some 60 years ago, in the days before everyone had a digital camera or image-capture cell phone in their pocket. Despite the fact that there are no photographs to substantiate the report, it’s still an amazing story.

So what are we to make of this? Because it’s not the first time French has stirred up the UFO-ET pot.

Last year, he told HuffPost exclusively that there wasn’t just one UFO crash near Roswell, N.M., in 1947 — he said there were two.

I’m not sure about this whole “two crashes at Roswell” thing. I’ve heard it before, and other versions have it as two crash sites for the same vehicle. Ultimately though, without any real proof, these are just interesting stories.

Disc-Shaped UFO Photographed by NASA

May 8th, 2013 No comments

I believe in UFOs as much as the next guy. But there’s been a disturbing trend in recent years for UFO nuts ufologists to look for UFOs where there really aren’t any UFOs. Take this photo by NASA for example. Is it interesting? Sure. But it’s far more likely that this is a defect on the lens or in the photo rather than an extraterrestrial craft.

A UFO was apparently captured in a NASA photograph of the Earth

“If you squint really hard, and adjust your computer’s brightness, and use some PhotoShop effects, you can totally see the UFO. It’s SO obvious…”

An unidentified flying object has been captured hovering above the Earth’s surface in an image uploaded to the Nasa website, sparking feverish debate among netizens.

The disc-shaped object can be seen emitting strange rainbow-like colourful lights above the Earth’s surface in the picture.

“Look carefully at the Nasa photo above and not only will you notice a UFO in it but if your computer screen brightness is higher, you will also notice that there is a glowing aura around the UFO,” Scott C Waring of UFO Sightings Daily said in his blog.

“This indicates the craft is there. Apparently Nasa astronauts thought this was interesting enough to take some photos of it and one accidentally made it onto the Nasa public site,” Waring added.

The image, uploaded on YouTube by a user who goes by the name Streetcap1, has sparked debate among viewers, with some believing it to be a sign of alien life and others dismissing it as the result of faulty camera lenses.

On 2 May, a witness in San Lorenzo, California reported seeing strange orange lights in the sky. The witness also added that the object came into view following a loud noise.

According to the witness, the object that stayed stationary in the sky for about 30 seconds was seen emitting red, orange and yellow lights.

“I heard a distant pop boom sound that got my attention and all the dogs on the block began to all bark. Looking almost straight up and about 10 degrees to the west, so at 80 degrees, I saw a very bright object that was flashing or pulsing orange, red, yellow, blue [and] white lights randomly across its shape that appeared to be rectangle,” the witness said.

In April, a grey saucer-shaped object was seen flying over the skies of Khakassia in Russia. An image of the object taken by two schoolgirls left onlookers stunned and amazed.

NASA takes lots of photos from space, and perhaps the astronauts just thought this was a cool picture of Earth? Otherwise, why wouldn’t the astronauts focused more on the UFO? The focus seems to be on, you know, the Earth.

Ghostly meat-ings for Robbie Williams

May 2nd, 2013 No comments

I’ll admit, I’m totally jealous of these two – they get to look for all the famous ghosts, while most of us are reduced to searching for the “normies.”  I suppose someone’s gotta do it though, and why not Robbie Williams and Meat Loaf? Also, can we just talk about how this article informally refers to Meat Loaf as just “Meat.” AWESOME.

Robbie Williams and Meat Loaf look for ghosts and UFOs

Yeah…this kind of happened….

SUPERNATURAL nut ROBBIE WILLIAMS would do anything to spot ghosts and UFOs.

Now he’s got a new pal to help him do that – MEAT LOAF.

The pair have known each other for years and Meat is planning to take Rob on a hunt for CHARLIE CHAPLIN’s poltergeist.

He said: “Robbie should absolutely come ghost-hunting with me. There are so many places to go – we could head to the old A&M recording studios in LA. They think Charlie Chaplin’s down there.”

Meat, who starts his farewell tour in Newcastle on April 5, believes his body acts as a ghost doorway.

He said: “There are people they say are conduits, who are more open to it, and so this stuff’s been going on since I was a kid.

“I’ve seen my mother after she died and my grandmother. I talked to my mother, and she talked back.

“And I’m not crazy, but people would think, ‘He’s crazy’.”

Couple of after thoughts – 1. I feel bad for Charlie Chaplin if he is indeed a “poltergeist.” 2. Doesn’t being a “ghost doorway” sound like a painful and alarming medical condition?

UFO Documentary to Highlight Humanoid of Unknown Origin

April 9th, 2013 No comments

I’ve been doing this blog for more than a few years now, and have been interested in the paranormal for many years before that, and I’m always skeptical when grandiose claims come about. Sort of like the ones in this story, claiming that an alien body has been found and the DNA sequence cannot be classified. Read on…

Dr. Steven Greer presents his work in the new UFO documentary Sirius, narrated by Thomas Jane

It sure is dry in here…

A new documentary on UFOs, extraterrestrials, and advanced clean energy, hopes to provide evidence that the government has figured out how UFOs operate and are hiding advanced technology that can provide clean energy. The film also features the discovery of an alleged humanoid body whose DNA has been sequenced and found to be of an “unknown classification.” Photos of the being were released today with the announcement of the Hollywood premiere of the film scheduled for later this month. It was also announced that the film is narrated by actor Thomas Jane, who is known to have in interest in UFOs.

The new film is titled Sirius, and features the work of Dr. Steven Greer. With a similar goal as the film, Greer brought together a panel of highly credible witnesses who testified in front of representatives from all of the major media outlets at the National Press Club in Washington D.C. in May of 2001. At that time he filmed hours of testimony from hundreds of credible witnesses. His work has been very influential in convincing people that the government knows more than it is sharing, and as he puts it, “Once people understand that classified projects have figured out how UFO’s operate, they will realize we no longer need oil, coal and nuclear power. This is the truth that has driven the secrecy.”

One of the most shocking claims put forth in the film is that they have obtained, “paradigm shifting physical evidence of a medically and scientifically analyzed DNA sequenced humanoid creature of unknown classification found in the Atacama desert, Chile.” According to the filmmakers the credentials of the group of scientists and the medical team behind this claim are “eye-opening.” They believe that the announcement of their discovery could be “potentially profound and historical.”

The film is directed by Emmy Award winning Amardeep Kaleka. He won his Emmy in 2011 for his short film Jacob’s Turn, on a child with Down Syndrome.  He explained why he would chose to work on such a controversial topic:

“Given the possibility that there was something profound to explore here – something that could potentially open minds to new realms and new possibilities – we seized the opportunity to take on this project. For every story we told, we found hundreds of others. Our goal is to initiate our audience on the same journey – to open their minds and inspire them to search – and freely consider that there is more in this world than we may ever know.”

Actor Thomas Jane, most recently known for his leading role in the HBO’s Hung, also shared why he chose to participate:

“The Sirius documentary is a powerful and important film that I encourage everyone to watch with an open mind, as it truly speaks to the heart of the people who like me, are probably okay with the government keeping secrets from its people in the name of national security, but are not okay with a secret government.”

The film is set to premiere in Hollywood on April 22, and will then be followed by a limited theatrical release. It will also be launched video on demand on the Yekra video platform and Yekra’s Affiliate Connect customized social media networks. The film’s funding was mostly obtained through crowd sourcing on the Kickstarter website, and according to the filmmakers press release it has been the “highest documentary crowd-funding raise in history.”

I’m not quite sure why these filmmakers or people doing press conferences always put the proverbial cart before the horse. Nobody ever waits for verification of the findings, but they release films and press releases and announce these big potential findings before there is independent verification, and then they disappear. Oh, this documentary will be shown in Hollywood and theatrical release, you say? I guess I found my answer.

Cosplaying to Celebrate Paranormal Themed Events

April 1st, 2013 No comments

Aliens, witch hauntings, mythological creatures, whatever the reason for gathering, one thing is for sure, the paranormal give us an excuse to dress up and celebrate the paranormal mysteries in life. There are a many groups and organizations that host gatherings for these creatures or events annually. Whether these creatures exist or not, time has shown their possible presence inspires people to put on their costumes on for occasions other than Halloween. Here are a few of the most popular in the world today.

Roswell, New Mexico, celebrates the famous UFO crash

Alien Landing at Roswell

To thousand, even millions, July of 1947 will forever live in infamy as the day an actual alien landing was covered up. Summertime in sunny New Mexico is enough of a reason to gather and socialize on its own but the historical controversy of the possible alien citing has caused many young people to adopt an alien theme to their summer fun. Every first weekend of July the people of Roswell host UFO festival where people can come dressed in their own imagination of what our possible neighbors form above might look like. There are a couple ways to approach this in your costume. You can go with the classic green, round, extended shape head. You can try themes from famous movies depending on the effect you’re going for. For scary I recommend the original Alien look with and extended head. A professional walker’s helmet is actually a really great way to pull this off naturally if you paint it black. Other ideas include the soldier alien looks from Independence Day, the vicious but comical look from Mars Attacks, or the timeless E.T. It’s important to dress in the alien that fits your personality. Wearing regular human clothes with an alien face seems to be gaining more and more popularity as people like to give the impression they are “in disguise”.

Bigfoot, or Sasquatch, chases a biker. Or is it a costume?

Bigfoot

Everyone who has ever walked into the woods knows somebody who has claimed to see a Sasquatch or the famous “Bigfoot”. This larger-than-life creature has been claimed be spotted most abundantly in the Pacific Northwest started out mostly being cosplayed as a giant, black-furred, mountain man. Since then different versions of Bigfoot have been portrayed, most notably the Sasquatch in Jack’s Links commercials. The good thing about this creature is that our culture has taken to naming events after it such as fitness runs in the mountains, motocross races, and other outdoor fitness competitions. All of these events are appropriate for “Bigfoot” attire; the key with these costumes is to not look too much like Chewbacca and not too much like a basic Gorilla. It definitely helps to be tall but I have personally seen shorter men pull it off. The key is the fur; don’t worry too much about a mask. Some face paint or even mud along with patches of fur on the body can be enough strut your inner mountain woods monster.

The Loch Ness monster costume

Nessie

The famous Loch Ness monster has spawned many toys, T-shirts, a few cartoon characters based on the beast, but most of all it plays a huge role in the spirit of Scotland’s annual Roch Ness Festival. Taking place in late June, every year music fans gather around the famous lake and go nuts for a day. Some people like to penetrate the crowd easier by getting a few friends together and putting on a multi-person costume of Nessie. Given the fact that Nessie is said to have enormous size in addition to a neck longer than a giraffe it can be hard to pull off this costume alone. Still, the music festival is known as “its own monster” by the locals because you never know what’s going to happen.

Marie Sumner never grew out of playing dress-up. She writes to share her passion and offer advice to others regarding kids costumes, anime conventions, renaissance fairs, paranormal citing celebrations and other fun dress-up events.
